Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Principal DevOps Architect to provide technical leadership across enterprise DevOps, cloud architecture, containerization, software delivery, and automation. This fully remote role requires 15% travel and partners with development, cloud, security, and operations teams to deliver scalable solutions for government programs.

Qualifications

• 15+ years enterprise IT experience with solution architecture, cloud platforms, software development, integration, delivery leadership, and government program experience preferred.
• Strong coding skills across full stack (.NET 4, .NET 8+), JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Vue.js, and SQL Server.
• Experience with data modeling, complex SQL queries, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with OIDC, SAML 2.0, and JWT authentication; designing secure software solutions.
• Experience with AWS services and software release pipelines.
• Knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and secure development practices.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement DevOps and containerization best practices and automation across the enterprise.
• Serve as a technology thought leader, aligning business needs with industry best practices.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring within the DevOps Engineering team.
• Define and implement configuration management for the enterprise SDLC.
• Manage source code, branching, merging, and packaging; mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with Cloud Services on installations, upgrades, deployments, and containers.
• Develop automation scripts for build, deploy, and versioning activities.
• Resolve complex issues in version control and CI systems.
• Oversee large, technically complex projects and assure service delivery excellence.
