Job summary

MAXIMUS is seeking a Principal DevOps Architect to provide strategic technical leadership across enterprise DevOps, cloud, containerization, and automation. This remote role travels about 15% and partners with development, cloud, security, and operations to deliver scalable solutions for government programs.

The candidate will define architecture, establish best practices, mentor the DevOps team, and guide complex initiatives to ensure reliable software delivery and secure solutions.

Qualifications

• 15+ years enterprise IT experience with solution architecture, cloud platforms, software development, integration, delivery leadership, and government program experience preferred.
• Full-stack development experience with strong coding skills in .NET 4 and .NET 8+, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Vue.js.
• Strong experience with SQL Server, data modeling, and complex queries; knowledge of software architecture patterns.
• Experience with secure software design including OIDC, SAML 2.0, and JWT authentication.
• Familiarity with AWS services and enterprise DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement DevOps and containerization best practices and automate software release pipelines across the enterprise.
• Serve as a technical lead for training and promoting DevOps excellence within the team.
• Develop and enforce configuration management supporting the software development life cycle.
• Collaborate with cloud, security, and operations to enable self-sufficient deployments.
• Manage source control workflows and CI/CD environments for large-scale projects.
• Lead complex, enterprise IT initiatives and assure service delivery excellence.
