Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Principal DevOps Architect to provide technical leadership across enterprise DevOps, cloud architecture, containerization, software delivery, and automation. This remote role requires 15% travel and partners with development, cloud, security, and operations teams to deliver scalable solutions for enterprise and government programs.

The position emphasizes establishing best practices, guiding complex initiatives, and mentoring the DevOps Engineering team while collaborating

Qualifications

• 15+ years enterprise IT experience with solution architecture, cloud platforms, software development, integration, delivery leadership, and government program experience preferred.
• Full-stack development experience with .NET 4 and .NET 8+; strong JavaScript/HTML/CSS; Vue.js.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and performance tuning; data modeling; SSRS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement DevOps and containerization best practices, release pipelines, and automation across the enterprise.
• Lead in assessing business needs and mapping industry practices to business goals.
• Mentor and train the DevOps Engineering team to build excellence and best practices.
• Define and implement the configuration management system to support the SDLC.
• Manage version control, build, and release activities and mentor junior staff.
• Collaborate with Cloud Services on installations/upgrades/deployments/containers to enable self-sufficiency.
• Develop automation scripts for build, deployment, and versioning tasks.
• Work with developers, testers, and IT staff to automate builds and deployments and support CI environments.
• Oversee large, complex projects and ensure service delivery excellence.
