Job summary

Maximus seeks a Principal DevOps Architect to provide technical leadership across enterprise DevOps, cloud, containerization, software delivery, and automation. This role partners with development, cloud, security, and operations teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions for enterprise and government programs.

The position is fully remote with 15% travel. You will define, implement, and evangelize best practices, guide architecture decisions, and mentor a high-performance DevOps team.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of enterprise IT experience with solution architecture and delivery leadership.
• Full-stack development experience with .NET 4 and .NET 8+ and Vue.js, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and secure software design.
• Experience with OIDC, SAML 2.0, JWT authentication and AWS services.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement DevOps and containerization best practices, pipelines, and automation enterprise-wide.
• Lead assessment of business needs and map to industry best practices and solutions.
• Mentor the DevOps Engineering team and promote excellence.
• Define, develop, and implement the configuration management system for the SDLC.
• Manage source code in VCS, including branching/merging; mentor juniors.
• Collaborate with Cloud Services for installations, upgrades, deployments, and containers.
• Develop automation scripts for build, deployment, and versioning.
• Resolve complex issues in version control and CI systems.
• Work with developers, testers, and IT staff to automate builds and CI environments.
• Oversee large, technically complex projects and ensure service delivery excellence.
