Job summary

ICA, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Principal Data & ML Ops Architect to lead the architecture of our data and document-intelligence platforms. You will design scalable systems to ingest, transform, govern and serve large data volumes for analytics, AI/ML, and operational applications, across healthcare and federal settings.

You will remain technically hands-on reviewing Python, SQL, schemas, APIs and production pipelines, while guiding cross-functional teams and architectural standards.

Qualifications

• Deep experience owning production data platforms or distributed data systems.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT, orchestration and cloud data platforms.
• Experience with unstructured data or document-processing at scale.
• Knowledge of metadata, lineage, provenance, data quality and observability.
• Experience designing systems with sensitive-data controls, governance, and auditability.
• Understanding of how modern AI/ML and retrieval systems rely on production data architecture.
• Strong communication, judgment and ownership.
• Authorized to work in the United States for 3+ consecutive years and eligible for Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Architect large-scale data and document-processing platforms from ingestion to consumption.
• Design patterns for document parsing, extraction, normalization, validation, storage and search.
• Set standards for schemas, metadata, lineage, data quality, reproducibility and auditability.
• Build robust ingestion and transformation pipelines using APIs, files, batch and streaming.
• Create platform patterns enabling Data Science and AI prototypes to production solutions.
• Support RAG, analytics, AI workflows, evaluation and feedback loops.
