Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking an AI Developer IV / Principal AI Engineer to define and own enterprise AI architecture while remaining hands-on in production coding. You will mentor engineers, influence governance, and drive AI-first engineering practices across multiple teams.

Location is remote with onsite options; preferred CST core hours apply. The role requires 15+ years in software engineering, expert Python, and cloud-native experience (AWS/GCP).

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience.
• Enterprise-scale AI solutions experience.
• Expert-level Python development experience.
• Experience designing cloud-native apps in AWS and/or GCP.
• Experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead enterprise AI architecture strategy.
• Design, build, and deploy scalable AI-powered applications.
• Provide technical leadership for large-scale AI transformations.
• Write production-quality code and stay hands-on.
• Mentor senior engineers and guide governance and best practices.
• Lead architecture reviews and influence engineering standards.
