Job summary

Pheasants Forever seeks a Prescribed Fire Coordinator to support longleaf restoration and prescribed fire across the North Carolina Sandhills. You will mentor, train, coordinate, and report to expand fire capacity on private lands.

You will coordinate Learn & Burn events, assist landowners with planning, and build relationships with NRCS, NC Forest Service, and other partners while tracking metrics and delivering outreach.

Qualifications

• BS in forestry, wildlife management, fire ecology, or related natural resources field with 3+ years of experience.
• Prescribed fire training and certifications required (S-130/S-190, etc.).
• Knowledge of Forestry and Working Lands operations desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide prescribed fire planning and outreach to private landowners and partners.
• Coordinate daily operations of the Sandhills Prescribed Burn Association.
• Deliver trainings, workshops, and outreach events.
• Support monitoring, reporting, and grant deliverables for the program.
• Represent SPBA and QF with landowners, agencies, and partners.
• Promote prescribed fire training opportunities and certification programs.
