Job summary

Pheasants Forever in Remote (NC preferred) seeks a Prescribed Fire Coordinator to support longleaf restoration and fire efforts across NC Sandhills. This role mentors landowners, coordinates training, and reports on program outcomes while fostering partnerships with NRCS and state agencies.

Responsibilities include planning burns, delivering workshops, and promoting a healthy fire culture. A BS in a natural resources field and prescribed fire credentials are required; salary starts around

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in forestry or related natural resources field with minimum 3 years experience.
• Prescribed fire training and certifications required.
• Knowledge of landowner outreach and wildlife management preferred.
• Ability to work with partners and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support prescribed fire activities and training.
• Mentor and assist private landowners in longleaf restoration and fire planning.
• Organize Learn & Burn events, field days and outreach activities.
• Maintain relationships with agencies and conservation partners.
• Track metrics and prepare quarterly and grant reports.
• Deliver public presentations and workshops to promote program.
• Help develop and implement education and outreach programs.
