Job summary

Pheasants Forever is seeking a Prescribed Fire Coordinator to support longleaf restoration and prescribed fire across the North Carolina Sandhills. You will mentor, train, coordinate events, and report on progress while building partnerships with landowners and agencies.

The role requires BS in forestry/wildlife or related field with 3+ years of experience and prescribed fire certifications. Remote/hybrid work within NC with a competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in forestry, wildlife management, fire ecology, or related field with minimum 3 years experience.
• Prescribed fire training and certifications required.
• Knowledge of Forestry and Working Lands operations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide prescribed fire-related training and mentoring.
• Coordinate daily operations with the Sandhills Prescribed Burn Association.
• Assist landowners with burn planning, implementation, and reporting.
• Deliver outreach events, workshops, and public presentations.
• Track metrics and prepare quarterly/grant reports.
