Job summary

Nearmap is seeking a Solutions Engineer specialized in Insurance AI to help customers leverage Nearmap’s AI-driven data in pricing, underwriting, and regulatory workflows. You will partner with carriers to scope data tests, develop success criteria, and align data tests with Nearmap’s data and software products.

The role requires deep understanding of property/casualty insurance data science, actuarial consulting, and strong client-facing communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in P&C insurance data science, actuarial or pricing analytics roles.
• Ability to translate technical findings into business recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Experience with GLMs and tree-based models (GBMs, random forests, XGBoost).

Responsibilities

• Pre-Sale Support: understand data needs and outcomes with prospects.
• Data Test/POC: enhance POC process to align requirements and success criteria.
• Actuarial Support: liaise with actuaries, data scientists, and pricing teams.
• Regulatory support: assist with regulatory needs related to Nearmap AI in rating.
• Validation: perform validation studies and scenario testing of models.
• Develop customer-facing materials and analyses for insurers.
• Build deep knowledge of Nearmap data to improve models.
