Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• At least 1 year of experience in medical insurance field (Hematology/Oncology/Urology preferred).
• Prior work experience with insurance precertification and/or financial counseling recommended.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain treatment plans and financial responsibilities.
• Ability to multi-task and juggle priorities in a fast-paced practice environment.

Responsibilities

• Pre-certification and duties to secure authorization for treatment payments from insurers and patients.
• Verify patients' benefits and eligibility for pre-certs.
• Ensure treatment codes are covered per CPT-4, ICD-10, HCPCS policies.
• Coordinate with insurance companies if treatment is approved.
• Input benefits and references in Centricity and OncoEMR.
• Coordinate referrals for treatments as needed.
• Support enrollment in drug programs and foundations for financial aid.
