Job summary

Astera Cancer Care is seeking a Treatment Coordinator for our Central New Jersey location, floating to support Monroe, East Brunswick, Robbinsville, and Somerset offices as needed.

The role focuses on scheduling patient appointments for visits, labs, injections and chemotherapy, supporting clinicians, coordinating education with billing, ensuring pre-certifications, and maintaining clear communication with staff and Pharmacy. Travel to multiple office sites is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Clerical experience required.
• Knowledge of standard office equipment.
• Knowledge of EMR systems (preferably OncoEMR).
• Must be willing to travel to office sites for coverage.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all patient appointments and pre-visit activities including labs, injections and chemotherapy treatments according to scheduling policies.
• Support clinical providers and coordinate with the billing team to ensure timely chemotherapy education and treatment initiation.
• Ensure all appointments/treatments are pre-certified and properly documented.
• Maintain close communication with supervisor, pharmacy and physicians regarding medication approval or delays.
• Manage time effectively to complete assignments within deadlines.
• Answer phones professionally and assist triage nurses as needed.
• Identify need for premeds and advise Nurses/Physician Assistants accordingly.
• Order, track and maintain medical and clerical supplies; monitor inventory.
