Job summary

Astera Cancer Care in Central New Jersey is seeking a Treatment Coordinator to support multiple NJ locations, floating as needed. The role involves scheduling, patient education coordination, and collaboration with clinical staff across Monroe, East Brunswick, Robbinsville and Somerset.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED and clerical experience, familiarity with EMR systems (OncoEMR preferred), and be willing to travel to office sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Clerical experience required.
• Knowledge of standard office equipment (phone, copier, computer) required.
• Knowledge of EMR systems (OncoEMR preferred).
• Must be willing to travel to office sites for coverage.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all patient appointments and treatments per scheduling policies.
• Support clinical providers by coordinating care and communications.
• Follow up with billing to ensure timely scheduling of education and start of treatments.
• Ensure pre-certification for all appointments and treatments.
• Maintain communication with supervisor, pharmacy and physicians about approvals or delays.
• Practice effective time management and prioritize tasks.
• Greet patients, families and caregivers and answer phones professionally.
• Assist triage nurses with calls and coordinate with clinical staff.
• Identify if premeds are needed and inform nurses.
• Order and maintain medical and clerical supplies and equipment; manage inventory.
• Follow OSHA safety standards and Universal Precautions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
