Job summary

WEKA is seeking a Public Relations Manager to run external-facing PR and earned media, reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications. You will pitch and place stories, lead launches, and manage agency operations to keep WEKA in the news.

The role emphasizes trend authority, trusted commentary, and building WEKA spokespeople as industry sources, shaping how data infrastructure and AI narratives are perceived.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in PR or corporate communications, in-house or agency (8+ for Senior Manager consideration) with B2B tech experience.
• Proven ability to forge trusted media and influencer relationships, develop pitches that land, and secure top-tier story placements.
• Demonstrated experience running end-to-end launches and embargoed news announcements, coordinating multiple stakeholders and spokespeople.
• AI fluency and experience using AI tools and workflows to enhance and accelerate communications practice.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills, editorial judgment to decide what ships and what doesn't.

Responsibilities

• Media and influencer relations: pitch and place stories with tier-one tech, business, and AI trade media.
• Trend authority and trusted commentary: monitor news, develop sharp POVs, place expert commentary.
• Thought leadership: bylines, contributed articles, podcasts, speaking opportunities, awards.
• Launch communications: PR for product launches and company milestones, coordinating spokespeople and agencies.
• Integrated program building: earned media with owned and paid channels.
• Agency operations: manage external agencies and set priorities.
• Measurement: track share of voice, media mentions, sentiment, and placement quality.
