Redtree Engineering seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer with deep power plant design experience to lead schematic design, detailed engineering, and field activities for coal, natural gas, and combined-cycle facilities. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
10+ years of hands-on electrical design experience in the power generation industry (coal, natural gas, gas-fired, and/or combined cycle).
Experience designing electrical systems for power plants (MV/HV distribution, switchgear, substations, P&C).
Experience mentoring, training, or leading engineers, including reviewing technical work.
Experience with low, medium, and high-voltage distribution systems and critical electrical infrastructure.
Knowledge of protection and control systems, relay coordination, switchgear design, and transformer applications.
Experience performing electrical studies using ETAP or similar software.
Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, NESC, and utility requirements.
Willingness to travel to project sites (10-20%).

Responsibilities

Serve as technical lead for electrical scope on assigned power generation projects, setting design direction and quality standards for the team.
Bring deep hands-on power plant design experience to bear on complex electrical systems for coal, natural gas, and combined cycle facilities.
Mentor, train, and develop engineers, including reviewing their calculations, drawings, and design decisions.
Manage and lead teams of electrical engineers to complete assigned activities and delegate tasks.
Coordinate with overseas project teams to ensure design quality across time zones.
Develop electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and equipment layouts for generation facilities.
Design and specify medium- and high-voltage systems including switchgear, substations, transformers, P&C systems, and interconnections.
Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors on specifications and issue resolution.
Perform electrical studies including load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, protection coordination, grounding, and harmonics using ETAP or similar.
Support control systems integration and plant automation initiatives.
Prepare and review design packages to comply with codes and client specs.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated, constructible solutions.
Support construction startup activities with remote submittal reviews and technical direction.
