Job summary

Redtree Engineering seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support front-end planning, detailed design, and construction administration for power generation projects, focusing on coal and natural gas-fired plants and balance of plant systems. The role spans full lifecycle and collaborates with electrical, civil, structural, PM/CM teams on new builds and uprates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field (ABET-accredited).
• Experience with mechanical design for power generation facilities: coal and gas-fired.

Responsibilities

• Perform front-end planning, preliminary design, code analysis, and detailed design for mechanical systems in power generation facilities.
• Design and size mechanical equipment and piping systems, including pumps, blowers, tanks, and vessels; perform hydraulic calculations and material selection.
• Develop and review P&IDs for pumps, vessels, and tanks.
• Support air quality control systems and ELG management for generation facilities.
• Prepare final design packages and bid documents in compliance with codes and client specs.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage mechanical scope on projects.
