Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Power Distribution Engineer to join our client’s team. This fully remote role must be based in the Tampa or Orlando area and focuses on preparing project packages including material lists, requisitions, labor estimates, and construction drawings for electrical distribution installations.

You will support design of overhead and underground systems, perform calculations, and ensure compliance with standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

Support design and engineering of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
Prepare construction drawings, engineering calculations, and equipment specifications.
Contribute to project documentation and labor/material estimates.
Collaborate with project managers, designers, field personnel, clients and subcontractors.
Ensure compliance with utility standards, codes and regulations.
Perform load calculations and voltage drop analyses under senior guidance.
Conduct site visits to gather data and validate designs.
