Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Power Distribution Engineer to join our team. The role is fully remote but requires sitting in the Plainfield or Indianapolis area, focusing on preparing project packages, material lists, requisitions, and drawings for electrical distribution installations.

You will support design and engineering of overhead and underground systems, assist with construction drawings and specs, and collaborate with clients and subcontractors to deliver projects safely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• CAD experience from school or internships.
• Experience designing overhead or underground electrical distribution systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and engineering of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
• Assist with preparation of construction drawings, engineering calculations, equipment specifications, and project documentation.
• Participate in utility distribution projects involving system upgrades and infrastructure modernization.
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, field personnel, clients, and subcontractors to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
• Review utility standards, codes, and regulations to ensure engineering compliance.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and equipment sizing under guidance of senior engineers.
• Conduct field investigations and site visits to gather project information and validate design assumptions.
