Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a BI Engineer III to join a growing travel industry organization. You will design, develop, and optimize Power BI reporting and analytics, partnering with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.

The role demands expert Power BI development, strong SQL and semantic modeling, and the ability to act as a primary business-facing member of the data team while working in a fully remote environment. Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in BI, analytics, or reporting.
• Expert Power BI development, administration, and performance optimization.
• Strong SQL and semantic modeling experience.
• Experience gathering requirements and translating to technical reporting solutions.
• Excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver reporting solutions.
• Develop semantic models to support consistent reporting and self-service analytics.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for reporting and ad hoc requests.
• Monitor report performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Support Power BI administration, governance, and performance tuning initiatives.
• Conduct user training sessions and assist with reporting inquiries.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and QA to improve reporting capabilities.
