Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Chemical Process Engineer for our client in East London, SA, to lead the development, optimization, and scale-up of polymer manufacturing processes, enhancing efficiency and product quality in a state-of-the-art facility.

You will design experiments, run pilot-scale trials, analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and work with R&D, production, and QA to implement new technologies while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Travel to East London will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize polymerization processes and downstream operations.
• Conduct laboratory experiments and pilot-scale trials to evaluate new process conditions.
• Analyze process data to identify efficiency, cost, and quality improvements.
• Troubleshoot process issues and implement solutions for consistent production.
• Collaborate with R&D, production, and QA to meet project goals.
• Prepare process documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, and operating procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
