Job summary

iMPROve Health is seeking a Remote Peer Reviewer in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation to perform independent external medical reviews as an independent contractor (1099). Review cases remotely, determine medical necessity and quality of care, and ensure unbiased decisions consistent with current standards. Requires an unrestricted U.S.

medical license and board certification as applicable. The role offers remote work from anywhere in the United States.

Qualifications

• Must hold an unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state.
• Board certification through ABMS, AOA, or another recognized board.
• At least five years of full-time clinical care experience, with activity in the last three years.
• Knowledge of current guidelines and treatments related to the review subject.
• Active engagement in direct patient care at least 20 hours per week; administrative work does not qualify.

Responsibilities

• Conduct objective, evidence-based peer reviews of clinical cases.
• Determine medical necessity and quality of care.
• Ensure decisions are fair, unbiased, and aligned with standards of practice.
• Submit reviews timely using provided IT systems.
