Job summary

EPAM Systems seeks a Platform Engineer — Semantic Discovery & Credentials to join the team in Portugal in a fully remote mode. You will develop core capabilities for semantic discovery and secure credential management within the MCP Server Registry for an Enterprise Agent Development Platform.

Your work includes designing semantic discovery with vector embeddings, integrating Vault/AWS Secrets Manager, and building Python APIs for credential lifecycles in runtime environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in platform or backend engineering roles.
• Hands-on with Vault (HashiCorp) or AWS Secrets Manager.
• Practical experience with semantic or vector search (OpenSearch, pgvector).
• Strong Python for backend API design and integration.
• Knowledge of security, identity, and access management in distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS Bedrock embedding models is a plus.
• Familiarity with OpenSearch Service or pgvector on RDS for search infra.
• Understanding OAuth token lifecycle and security patterns.
• Background in building enterprise-scale registry or resource management platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design semantic discovery mechanisms for MCP servers using vector embeddings.
• Integrate Vault and AWS Secrets Manager for secure credential storage and retrieval.
• Develop Python APIs for credential lifecycle management and runtime retrieval.
• Implement domain and capability taxonomy for MCP resource classification.
• Build indexing pipelines using OpenSearch or pgvector for semantic search.
• Collaborate on integrating semantic search with MCP orchestration workflows.
• Ensure secure handling of keys, tokens, and secrets per enterprise standards.
• Optimize performance and reliability of credential management components.
• Work with governance teams to embed access control in credential workflows.
