Job summary

Clera is seeking a Platform Engineer to build and maintain the core infrastructure behind our AI and machine learning platform. You will design scalable backend systems, APIs, and deployment pipelines that power real-world data products.

You will work with the founding team to reduce bottlenecks, improve reliability, and guide the platform’s long-term direction. The role is remote, with a preference for candidates in international regions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as Platform/SRE/DevOps or backend engineer building production infrastructure
• Experience shipping production systems at scale and handling incidents
• Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible and cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Strong backend fundamentals in Python, Go, Node.js, or Java; with databases and APIs
• Familiar with monitoring, logging, observability, and messaging/event streams
• Comfort in early-stage environments with changing priorities and stakeholder communication

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend systems and APIs that support core product workflows
• Partner with founders and cross-functional teams to identify platform bottlenecks and deliver improvements
• Maintain and optimize infrastructure, databases, and deployment pipelines
• Contribute to architectural decisions that guide the platform’s long-term direction
• Investigate production issues and improve monitoring and observability
• Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code, containerization, orchestration, and CI/CD systems
