Job summary

CMG is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate the platforms, pipelines, and infrastructure used by CMG software teams. You will own major components end-to-end across CMG's shared CI/CD templates, Terraform catalog, GitHub Enterprise, and identity/security configurations.

You will lead platform migration efforts, build self-service tooling, and implement automated guardrails to ensure safe, compliant deployments across multiple application teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform engineering, including experience owning a shared platform used by other teams.
• Experience in regulated industries (financial services, mortgage, healthcare) with audit and least-privilege access.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure across App Service, Container Apps, Functions, Storage, networking, Key Vault, and Entra ID.
• Strong proficiency with Terraform at scale, including module and stack design, state management, and testing.
• Strong proficiency with CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines) with reusable workflows.
• Proficiency administering GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps at org level.
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and Azure Container Apps.
• Knowledge of observability platforms (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights).
• Experience with policy-as-code, drift detection, cost controls, or migration tooling.
• Knowledge of SOC 2, SOX, GLBA security frameworks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain shared CI/CD templates, GitHub workflows, and actions for .NET, Node.js, and SQL projects.
• Design and maintain Terraform modules and catalog stacks used across environments.
• Own infrastructure and platform components end-to-end including lifecycle management.
• Lead platform migration and modernization across multiple teams.
• Build self-service tooling to reduce manual work for application teams.
• Introduce guardrails across pipelines and infrastructure (policy-as-code, cost controls, compliance).
• Improve testing and validation of the platform code for safe downstream use.
• Improve observability of the platform (drift, pipeline health, OIDC issues, cloud cost).
• Administer GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps, including Entra ID integration and federation.
• Apply secure-by-default practices (managed identity, secret rotation, least-privilege).
• Investigate platform incidents and drive corrective actions.
• Provide technical reviews and mentor engineers in code review and pairing.
• Develop expertise in Azure services, identity, networking, data, or CI/CD design.
