Job summary

Go4 seeks a senior systems and backend engineering leader to own architecture for backend, API, cloud infra, and platform systems. This role is hands-on and contributes code while guiding an engineering cohort focused on V2.

You will stabilize Rails/PostgreSQL, expand to Node.js/TypeScript services, and build scalable, observable, secure systems. As part of Go4's first internal product and engineering cohort, you will set standards, mentor engineers, and ensure contracts enable parallel

Qualifications

• 7–12+ years of software, backend, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience with progressively larger production systems.
• Designed, built, and operated cloud-native production systems including telemetry, observability, and analytics.
• Kubernetes, containers, and infrastructure as code with meaningful implementation decisions.
• RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures with well-defined contracts for other teams.
• Experience with Node.js, Go, or Python in microservices environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the architectural direction of backend, API, cloud infrastructure, and platform systems.
• Design the V2 API and service architecture supporting web and mobile experiences.
• Evolve the Rails and PostgreSQL platform and introduce new services where value is clear.
• Establish engineering standards, development workflows, CI/CD patterns, and production operating practices.
• Lead container orchestration with Kubernetes/EKS and Terraform-based infrastructure as code.
• Establish production-grade observability, logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting; ensure PHI/PII security.
