Placements24 is seeking a highly qualified Remote Plant Pathologist for a globally focused agricultural research client. This fully remote role focuses on diagnosing diseases, advising on management strategies, and supporting crop health initiatives across diverse crops.

The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology or related field with 5+ years post-doctoral experience, strong molecular diagnostics, bioinformatics, and excellent communication skills for remote collaboration.

Formación

• PhD in Plant Pathology, Mycology, Bacteriology, Virology, or closely related field.
• Minimum 5 years post-doctoral experience in plant pathology with strong publication record.
• Proficiency in molecular diagnostics (PCR/qPCR/sequencing) and bioinformatics.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team with strong self-discipline and time management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience presenting complex scientific information.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose plant diseases using molecular, serological, and morphological techniques from remotely submitted samples.
• Develop and recommend integrated disease management strategies for various crops.
• Conduct literature reviews and stay updated on plant pathology trends and epidemiology.
• Analyze data from remote sensing, field reports, and diagnostics to identify hotspots and predict outbreaks.
• Provide expert consultation and guidance to producers, researchers, and extension agents via virtual platforms.
• Collaborate with international teams on research, grant writing, and publications.
• Develop training materials and conduct webinars for remote audiences.
• Contribute to development and validation of new diagnostic tools and technologies.
