Description

We are looking for Full-time, Remote Pilot Operator (RPO) candidates to join the SAIC Controller Training Solutions (CTS) team at the Dallas TRACON (D10) in Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX. The role involves supporting air traffic controller training services for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Job Description

The RPO acts as the pilot and other controllers in the Air Traffic Controller training simulator. Responsibilities include operating a simulated radar display and voice communication system, responding to voice commands from students, inputting data to simulate pilot actions, translating information into ATC terminology, and communicating via VCS with proper phraseology.

The candidate must complete certifications in classroom (airspace and procedures test) and lab (perform as RPO on all positions).

The FAA employs over 14,000 air traffic controllers, managing more than 50,000 aircraft daily. The FAA trains new and current air traffic control specialists through contractor-provided instructional services across the U.S.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
• High school diploma (or equivalent) and basic computer proficiency
• Ability to interpret diagrams and manuals, and communicate clearly

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
• ATC simulation lab experience and certification (desired but not required)
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of FAAO JO 7110.65 (desired but not required)
• Team building skills
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Familiarity with technological tools and pilot/controller phraseology
