Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Remote Pharmacy Technician, Order Processing. You will help deliver meds and care, while building relationships with patients and assisting pharmacists in preparing and delivering prescriptions.

This full-time remote role requires handling calls, data entry, insurance checks, and adherence to pharmacy regulations, with a strong focus on professional patient interaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• 1-2 years in mail order or retail pharmacy is preferred.
• State registration or national certification in good standing is preferred.
• Insurance billing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound calls to set up orders and coordinate with providers and patients.
• Input patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy system.
• Assist the pharmacist in filling prescriptions as permitted by state regulations.
• Review insurance coverage status and adjudicate claims for patient orders.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and maintain professional communication with customers.

Education

High School diploma, GED or equivalent

1-2 years of experience in mail order or retail pharmacy setting

Registered in the state of Ohio or Certified Pharmacy Technician

Active state or national certification in good standing

Insurance billing experience

_ What Retail Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health _

Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health’s pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers.

Retail Pharmacy is responsible for ensuring the correct and safe dispensing of prescription medications to the general public, in accordance with legal, ethical and professional guidelines; may also consult with and advise patients and physicians regarding prescribed and over-the-counter medications.

The Remote Pharmacy Technician, Order Processing plays an important role in delivering medication and pharmaceutical care in communities. This includes developing close relationships with patients in communities we serve and assisting the pharmacists in accurately preparing and delivering prescription medication.

_ Responsibilities _

• Manage inbound calls and make outbound calls related to setting up orders, working with medical providers, patients, and other pharmacy staff to ensure patients receive their medication in a timely manner
• Inputpatient data and prescription information into pharmacy information management system
• Assistthe Pharmacist in filling prescription orders, as permitted by the State Boards of Pharmacy
• As permitted by applicable state laws, take verbal prescription orders from licensed prescribers and transfer prescriptions between dispensing pharmacies
• Reviewpatient insurance coverage status and adjudicateclaims for patient orders
• Enter prescriptions in pharmacy system
• Maintainknowledge of and abide by applicable pharmacy laws and regulations
• Communicatewith all customers (patients, clinics, caregivers, physicians) in a pleasant and professional manner

_ Qualifications _

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
• 1-2 years of experience in mail order or retail pharmacy setting, preferred
• Registered in the state of Ohio or Certified Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a retail, mail order, or specialty pharmacy, preferred
• Active state or national certification in good standing
• Insurance billing experience, preferred

REMOTE DETAILS: You will work remotely, full-time. It will require a dedicated, quiet, private, distraction free environment with access to high-speed internet. We will provide you with the computer, technology and equipment needed to successfully perform your job. You will be responsible for providing high-speed internet. Internet requirements include the following:

• Maintain a secure, high-speed, broadband internet connection (DSL, Cable, or Fiber) at the remote location. Dial-up, satellite, WIFI, Cellular connections are NOT acceptable.
• Download speed of 15Mbps (megabyte per second)
• Upload speed of 5Mbps (megabyte per second)
• Ping Rate Maximum of 30ms (milliseconds)
• Hardwired to the router
• Surge protector with Network Line Protection for CAH issued equipment

Anticipated hourly range: $19.70 per hour - $25.29 per hour
