Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support data entry, patient registration, and resolution of third-party rejects under HIPAA and company procedures. You will use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and handle high-volume customer inquiries; duties may vary by department.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic level PC skills (e.g., start up and shut down computer, use mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents and/or access information online).
• Basic search engine skills (e.g., opening a browser, typing URLs, using a search engine, bookmarking a site, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and filling out forms online).
• Intermediate level keyboarding skills (at least 25 WPM, touch typing, formatting documents).
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Processes new patient registration by entering data into the system.
• Handles patient prescription requests and refill orders, and resolves missing information.
• Resolves third-party rejects by reviewing and submitting per plan requirements.
• Makes outbound calls to prescribers and patients; handles inbound inquiries via calls or emails.
• Provides assistance to pharmacists and communicates issues to senior staff.
