Job summary

Shields Health Solutions is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to fill a Patient Support Advocate role. This remote position focuses on helping patients access medications by navigating insurance, prior authorizations, and financial assistance programs.

You’ll support adherence and guide patients through complex processes to improve outcomes. You will collaborate with physicians and pharmacists to ensure timely therapy, document interactions, and uphold privacy and compliance standards while

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Strong customer service and patient communication skills.
• Experience with insurance claims, prior authorizations, or pharmacy operations preferred.
• New Hampshire state registration and/or national certification preferred.
• Continued employment requires maintaining licensure and certification.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate medication approvals via prior authorizations with insurers.
• Assist patients in accessing financial assistance from foundations and programs.
• Navigate pharmacy systems to enter data, adjudicate claims, and process refills.
• Document patient concerns and insurance status updates across systems.
• Collaborate with physicians to ensure timely and appropriate therapy.
• Maintain accurate records of patient communications and case activity.
• Help patients manage insurance claims and resolve coverage issues.
• Work with pharmacists to deliver coordinated patient care.
• Provide phone support to improve medication adherence.
• Research information to support decision-making and problem resolution.
• Organize and maintain data within various databases.
