Job summary

Clarivate Analytics US LLC is seeking a Remote Patent Analyst to research and analyze cutting-edge technologies. This independent contractor role allows flexible hours and focuses on supporting the US Patent & Trade Office.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with at least 1 year of experience in the patent field. Experience with patent searching tools is preferred, and a Master’s or PhD is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience working with patents or in the intellectual property field.
• Must pass USPTO Background check.
• U.S. citizen or legal resident who has resided in the U.S. for the last two years.

Responsibilities

• Accept projects with a defined due date based on availability.
• Perform comprehensive searches to locate relevant prior art.
• Prepare written opinions applying relevant prior art.

Skills

Patent examining or searching experience

Search methodology development

Strong time management skills

Experience with Orbit, PatBase, Google Scholar or PatSeer

Education

Bachelor's degree in relevant fields

Master's degree or PhD
