Job summary

Spectrum is seeking a detail-oriented Remote Payroll Specialist to support accurate and timely payroll processing for employees across multiple states. The role requires 2+ years of multi-state payroll experience, strong data-entry skills, and excellent communication in a remote environment.

Responsibilities include processing bi-weekly payroll, maintaining documentation, handling garnishments, and collaborating with accounting to resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must read/write/speak English.
• Occasional evenings or weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for assigned business units.
• Maintain payroll processing documentation and task lists.
• Respond to employee payroll questions by phone and email.
• Support payroll help-desk activities and team coverage.
• Process benefit deduction adjustments and related payroll requests.
• Process Short-Term Disability pay adjustments and check requests.
• Process stop-payment and check-reissue requests.
• Enter, review, and maintain garnishments and withholding orders.
• Respond to court and agency requests regarding garnishments.
• Complete wage verification requests.
• Process garnishment refunds and investigate discrepancies.
• Work with accounting/GL teams to resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Review system-generated reports to ensure payroll and garnishment accuracy.
• Participate in payroll system testing, upgrades, implementations, and training.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiency.
