Job summary

TeamHealth is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations across a large, multi-state organization. In this role, you'll help ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time while supporting compliance, reporting, employee inquiries, and payroll operations.

This remote-friendly position is open to candidates nationwide; Knoxville-area staff will train in-office before transitioning to a hybrid/remote arrangement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment.
• Knowledge of payroll tax regulations, garnishments, and gross-to-net calculations.
• Experience using payroll, HR, and timekeeping systems.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain employee payroll data within Workday and related systems.
• Process regular, supplemental, and off-cycle payrolls accurately and on time.
• Establish garnishment deductions and remit payments to applicable agencies.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
• Support payroll audits, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance activities.
• Collaborates with team members to assist other payroll processors and train new staff.
• Assist employees and managers with questions on timesheets and payroll matters with prompt customer service.
