Duke Urgent Care Hillsborough is seeking a Patient Service Associate to support daily clinic operations, including check-in/check-out, patient verification, and charge posting. The role emphasizes delivering excellent customer service, managing messages, and coordinating referrals and ancillary services.

The candidate will prepare for visits, review next day patients, and maintain accurate patient records while ensuring smooth communication with physicians and staff in a fast-paced urgent care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year in direct patient or public service communication.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and telephone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform administrative tasks to support daily clinic operations.
• Check-in/check-out processes, verify patient information, manage charges and scheduling.
• Provide exceptional customer service, handle messages, coordinate referrals and scheduling of ancillary services.
• Prepare for clinic visits, review next day patients and complete preparation activities.
• Enter pre-visit orders and prepare new patient charts.
• File and organize medical records and charts, return records when needed.
• Explain billing to patients according to policies and collect co-pays as applicable.
• Assist with scheduling tests and procedures and communicate with physicians and staff.
