Qualifications

• High school graduate or above preferred.
• 2 years of hospital and/or physicians billing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing, insurance plans, codes, and reimbursement methodologies.
• Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and independent decision making skills.
• Hybrid or remote work options may be available.

Responsibilities

• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and payer billing regulations.
• Evaluates daily claim files for UB-04/1500 submissions and edits.
• Initiates collection of aged accounts receivable via Epic work queues.
• Reviews credits work queues for resolution of overpayments.
• Communicates with patients for missing information to process claims.
• Leverages technology (Epic, Mytime, Outlook, SharePoint) to improve workflows.
• Advances a culture of safety and maintains organized work environment.
• Assists leadership with audits and process-improvement initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
