Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Worcester, MA is seeking an Associate Patient Service Specialist to support insurance verification, demographic updates, and patient scheduling. You will work with care teams to deliver excellent customer service while adhering to Lean processes and meeting financial and service goals.

This full-time role (40 hours/week) offers remote work in Worcester with flexible shifts between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, training during normal business hours, and opportunities for career

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or higher).
• 1+ year of customer service in a clinical setting.
• 1+ year of EMR experience.
• Must live within commutable distance to Worcester, MA area.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Verify, re-verify, and authorize patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
• Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information.
• Collect and post patient co-payments and other balances.
• Address patient-care related telephone calls via an incoming work queue.
• Identify priorities and respond to urgent needs by contacting physicians/providers.
• Provide patient education regarding managed care plans and referral process.
• Schedule patient visits and procedures for inpatients and outpatients.
• Notify providers and patients of scheduling changes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
