Job summary

Saint Luke's in Kansas City is seeking a Patient Accounts Representative to manage patient accounts, assist customers, and handle billing and reimbursement workflows. This is a call center role with remote work in the Kansas City area, shift Monday–Friday 8:30am–5:00pm.

You will answer patient inquiries by phone and email, process payments and payment plans, explain financial assistance options, and collaborate across departments to resolve balances and improve patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relevant healthcare/financial services experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong computer and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound patient calls and respond to emails in the EMR system.
• Make outbound collection calls to obtain payment information.
• Provide price estimates and process credit card payments.
• Establish payment plans and refer to extended vendors when needed.
• Identify financial assistance options and explain them to patients.
• Research and troubleshoot patient balance issues.
• Coordinate with other departments to resolve billing questions.
• Process incoming mail and faxes and manage queue tasks.
