Job summary

Avera Health is seeking a dedicated Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our medical group. Focused on follow-up of patient accounts, you will contact insurance companies, review unpaid or denied claims, and assist with rebills and secondary submissions.

You will collaborate with internal teams, maintain confidentiality, and support on-site facility needs as directed by leadership. A 1–3 year background and an associate or technical degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• High level knowledge of patient accounts in a medical group.
• 1–3 years of related experience preferred.
• Strong communication and attention to detail required.

Responsibilities

• Follow-up on accounts receivable by contacting insurance companies.
• Review unpaid/overpaid/denied claims and assist with denials appeals.
• Identify need to rebill claims and submit secondary claims not auto-generated.
• Assist with patient responsibility follow-up as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and support on-site facility needs as directed by leadership.
