Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have direct account follow-up and/or billing experience.
• Medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT and DRG knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of third-party payer processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow up with insurance payers on outstanding claims and accelerate cash collections.
• Escalate unpaid claims to payer claims supervisor when needed.
• Document client host system and copy notes into workflow tool.
• Assign status codes to trends for analysis and reporting.
• Write first and second level appeals of denials to secure payment.
• Escalate payer denial trends to Management and handle underpayments as assigned.
• Maintain daily productivity and quality targets; communicate with team remotely.
• Research and respond to inquiries related to assigned accounts.
