Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ years of healthcare office experience and/or strong customer service background preferred.
• Proficient in all types of registrations (inpatient, outpatient, and emergency admits).
• Completes Admissions, Discharges, and Transfers in a timely manner when applicable.
• Ability to monitor and perform patient hospital and/or ambulatory movement.
• Verifies medical necessity per CMS standards and communicates coverage/eligibility to patient.
• Accurately enters patient demographics, insurance, and financial information.
• Gathers and verifies confidential health and financial information to assure payment for services.
• Confirms the completeness of the electronic health record (EHR) and makes necessary changes.

Responsibilities

• Handle check-ins, scheduling, payment collection, and financial clearance for patients.
• Pre-register scheduled patients using EPIC work queue.
• Verify medical necessity and communicate coverage/eligibility to patients.
• Maintain completeness and accuracy of the electronic health record (EHR).
