Job summary

Check is building embedded payroll infrastructure and partners rely on our platform. The Support team keeps payroll running for thousands of businesses and millions of workers by investigating issues, explaining root causes, and driving toward solutions.

In this role, you’ll untangle complex payroll scenarios, collaborate across Engineering, Product, Tax, Risk, and partner teams, and translate technical concepts into clear guidance while building trusted relationships.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a client- or partner-facing role.
• Experience with payroll providers or fintech is a plus.
• Strong investigative instincts and curiosity to understand not just what happened, but why.
• Excellent written communication and ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional partner support across written channels, meeting or exceeding SLAs.
• Investigate complex payroll problems by tracing root causes and driving toward resolution with accuracy.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Product, Tax, Risk, and other teams to troubleshoot issues and unblock partners.
• Surface recurring questions and feedback to improve documentation and workflows.
• Build trusted relationships with partners by showing empathy, ownership, and clear context.
• Escalate thoughtfully to ensure teams understand the problem and needed path to resolution.
• Deliver personalized service by understanding partner platforms and business needs.
