Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join client meetings, understand technical needs, and help shape project scopes for new work. You will engage in discovery sessions, extract requirements, and translate client needs into actionable engineering plans.

The role emphasizes client interaction, problem discovery, and technical discussions, with a remote, part-time arrangement and long-term collaboration possibilities.

Qualifications

• Software engineering background (5+ years preferred)
• Comfortable discussing system design and implementation approaches
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Python, Java, Go, or similar
• APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure
• Strong spoken English and clear communication
• Ability to translate client needs into technical understanding
• Based in the United States and must be US citizen

Responsibilities

• Join client calls and technical meetings
• Lead or support technical discovery sessions
• Understand client goals, constraints, and expectations
• Ask structured technical questions around: Architecture and system design, APIs and integrations, Backend / frontend requirements, Data, security, and infrastructure
• Identify risks, unknowns, and assumptions early
• Produce clear technical notes and summaries after calls
• Help determine whether a project is feasible and well-defined
• Occasionally participate in technical challenges or evaluations required by clients
