Job summary

RD Nutrition Consultants LLC is seeking a Clinical Registered Dietitian for a part-time, hybrid role based in Abilene, TX. The position combines remote telehealth with one onsite visit per month. Compensation ranges from $30 to $38 per hour, with travel time, mileage, and lodging reimbursements.

Ideal candidates hold a dietetics degree, RD/RDN certification, and 2–3 years of acute care experience, with strong communication and EHR skills to support patient care and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program.
• Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD/RDN).
• Current state licensure/certification (if mandated by the state).
• Minimum of 2-3 years of recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Demonstrated experience managing patients with diverse, complex medical conditions.
• Proficiency in enteral and parenteral nutrition support.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Familiarity with acute care workflows, electronic health records (EHR), and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients at nutritional risk under facility policies.
• Develop and monitor individualized nutrition care plans for complex medical conditions.
• Offer nutrition education and counseling to patients and families.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other team members to optimize outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Maintain thorough EMR documentation reflecting intervention effectiveness.
• Monitor patients for acute changes and adjust nutrition interventions promptly.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical rounds.
• Serve as a nutrition resource for hospital staff and education.
