Job summary

C-P Systems is seeking an experienced Process Piping Designer for a part-time, hourly role with remote work options. The position supports active projects and includes collaboration with engineers to produce detailed piping designs and accurate deliverables.

The ideal candidate has extensive industrial piping design experience, strong knowledge of plant layout and applicable codes, and a willingness to mentor junior designers while contributing to project success.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years in industrial or chemical process piping design
• Strong grounding in plant layout, constructability, and applicable codes and standards
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting
• Interest in reviewing other people’s work and teaching what you know
• US Citizenship (required by some of our customers)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients and engineers to understand project requirements
• 3D modeling of process equipment, instrumentation, and piping
• Review drawings, models, and construction packages before they are issued
• Work through layout and constructability problems with our engineers and designers
• Mentor less experienced designers on field realities and how to run projects from a design standpoint
• Participate in design reviews with customers, typically in Navisworks
• Work with engineering team to help model processes for a complete mechanical bid package
