Job summary

Inspira Education Group is seeking a Medical Research Mentor to guide pre-med students through original research projects in medicine and related disciplines. This is a part-time, remote 1099 contractor role open to candidates based in the United States or Canada.

You will mentor students from topic ideation through study design, data interpretation, and final deliverables, helping them develop rigorous research skills and prepare academic outputs such as papers and posters.

Qualifications

• MD and/or PhD in a relevant field (medicine, biomedical sciences, psychology, public health, or related).
• Demonstrated experience conducting academic or clinical research.
• Strong background in research design, data analysis, and academic writing.
• Experience mentoring students or trainees.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong planning, organization, and project management skills.
• Genuine interest in mentoring undergraduate pre-med students and supporting their development.

Responsibilities

• Mentor pre‑med students through the research process from topic selection to study design, execution, and final deliverables.
• Guide research development to align with students' academic interests and career goals.
• Provide feedback on research plans, data interpretation, and drafts to strengthen work quality.
• Support understanding of research methodologies and discipline-specific expectations.
• Assist students in delivering outputs such as academic papers, posters, or journal submissions.
• Monitor progress against milestones and timelines.
