Job summary

Participate Learning, headquartered in Chapel Hill, NC, is seeking a part-time Dual Language Instructional Assistant to support Mandarin immersion classrooms. The DLIA will deliver instruction in the target language and step in for lead teachers as needed while traveling between Cabarrus and Union County schools.

The role requires on-site visits, though the position is remote in nature with 25-40 hours per week during the school year.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in Mandarin (speaking, listening, reading, and writing).
• English proficiency (intermediate to high).
• Post-secondary degree in Education-related field.
• At least one year of elementary teaching experience.
• Must complete HR process and employment verification.
• Authorized to work in the US.
• Willing to travel between schools and complete program trainings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in Mandarin across core subjects.
• Lead small groups during literacy rotations.
• Create lesson plans and manage classroom behavior.
• Collaborate with lead teacher and DL team.
• Travel to Cabarrus and Union County as required.
