Job summary

Broward College is seeking a part-time tutor to support students in the Academic Success Center (ASC) or assigned departments. You will provide tutoring in accounting, math, English, economics, and more, helping students become independent learners with effective study and test-taking strategies.

The role requires excellent time management, customer service, and strong verbal and written communication skills, with evenings and weekends possible. A bachelor’s degree or higher is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Bachelor degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Tutoring experience in subject area strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts individual, small group, and/or remote tutoring sessions (20%).
• Assess, assist, and encourage students during tutoring sessions (15%).
• Monitors tutor appointment schedules (15%).
• Assists students with making appointments (10%).
• Assists in the development of workshops and exam reviews (10%).
• Facilitates group study sessions (workshops, exam reviews, etc.) (10%).
• Participates in tutor training sessions and department meetings (10%).
• Represents the ASC during classroom visitations, orientations, and campus-wide events (5%).
• Performs other related duties as assigned (5%).
