Job summary

FCA is seeking a Paralegal to join its Legal Department as a key partner to a lean team in Kansas City, MO or fully remote. The role provides substantive legal, administrative, and operational support to advance FCA's mission and ministry, with strong emphasis on accuracy and discretion.

The Paralegal reports to Legal Counsel and requires a Bachelor's degree, ABA-approved certification preferred, and experience in real estate, intellectual property, litigation, and contract management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• ABA-approved paralegal certification preferred.
• Experience as paralegal or legal assistant preferred.
• Experience in real estate, IP, litigation, contract management, and board governance preferred.
• National paralegal certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support real estate transactions through coordinating due diligence, conducting research, and supporting acquisition process and closings.
• Take the lead on managing FCA's trademark portfolio, including managing deadlines and preparing filings under supervision.
• Assist with litigation management, including monitoring ongoing matter activity and pending deadlines, owning litigation holds, coordinating discovery processes, and interfacing with outside counsel.
• Coordinate contract management and board governance databases and execution of documents, signature collection, and corporate filings.
• Prepare drafts of communications, contracts, and various legal documents for use by attorneys, and edit legal documents for formatting and clarity.
• Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and communications for Legal Department projects while providing targeted administrative support.
• Capture, organize, and maintain institutional legal knowledge for ease of use across the organization.
• Maintain legal department expenses, invoices, and outside counsel billing records.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by Legal Counsel.
