Job summary

Mitsubishi Chemical America, Inc. is seeking a Paralegal to support intellectual property and corporate governance across the Americas. This role partners with business stakeholders, in-house attorneys, and outside counsel to track deadlines, documents, and approvals.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in patent/trademark docketing or governance, strong organizational skills, and the ability to learn quickly. Remote-friendly role with opportunities across legal functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; 5+ years in patent/trademark docketing or governance.
• Experience in IP administration or governance and ability to learn new areas.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with deadline management.
• Clear communication and follow-through with colleagues and external partners.
• Ability to research issues and develop practical solutions with guidance.
• Comfort with legal tech, including generative AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage domestic and international patent/trademark docketing and deadlines.
• Coordinate filings with employees, in-house attorneys, and outside counsel.
• Maintain IP portfolio records and budgets for filings and maintenance.
• Prepare and circulate board, shareholder, and committee materials; coordinate approvals.
• Maintain corporate records, org charts, and director lists across entities.
• Track annual report filings and governance obligations.
• Administer entity management and registered agent platforms; coordinate service-of-process notices.
• Support audits, records requests, formations, dissolutions, mergers, and restructurings.
• Assist with contract lifecycle management and board onboarding.
