Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires and Newby is seeking an experienced paralegal to support its Commercial Transportation/Litigation practice. The position is remote from Pennsylvania, allowing work from anywhere in the state, with duties spanning from case inception through trial and close.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in defense litigation support, a bachelor's degree and/or ABA-approved paralegal certificate, strong organizational and time-management skills, and proficiency in

Qualifications

• ~3+ years of experience, preferably in defense litigation support.
• ~ Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved organization.
• ~ Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
• ~ Strong time management skills with the ability to meet all deadlines and prioritize workload.
• ~ Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams of attorneys, legal staff, court staff, clients, expert witnesses, etc.
• ~ Demonstrated interest in defense litigation.
• ~ Ability to perform legal research, experience with Lexis is a plus.
• ~ Familiarity with reviewing and obtaining medical records.
• ~ Experience with time entry billing in a law firm setting.
• ~ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, required.

Responsibilities

• Manage client cases from inception through trial and closing.
• Daily time entry billing requirements.
• Obtain, review, analyze and summarize documents, including medical records, financial documents and other relevant case information.
• Trial preparation - such as trial binders, exhibits and preparing witness files.
• Manage court docket calendar.
• Create status reports and provide updates to appropriate parties.
• Willingness to work on cases from start to finish and meet all court deadlines.
• Additional duties as assigned.
